Fw: [arizona_humor] stupid customers
----- Original Message -----
Hello,
I'm new to the group and have enjoyed reading all the humor posted.
I, too, have the same problem at my company. While I am the bookkeeper, the
a/p and a/r person, plus do inside sales (videoconference rental rooms on
site and off site), order supplies -- I also am the receptionist.
I hear these same words weekly. "My caller ID just said someone called me
from this number." At the time, we were only 4 people. I'd give them each
person's name, but they weren't familiar with any of the names. (I was one
of them -- and I knew I didn't call them.) We just bought a small phone
company so now we are 33 people. I don't think this will help the problem
much.
Not only that, but for the last 5 1/2 years, I've been taking the calls for
Chevy USA. I don't know how their number for service is posted, but it
rings our 800 #. Our last 4 digits are 8882. Theirs is 8872. I believe
they use CHEVY USA as part of their number ... so I get tons of calls as
well as overnight voice mail from people who have locked themselves out of
their cars, have a flat, are stranded, etc.
I had one poor soul who used their last quarter to call us and they were
stranded somewhere. I had them give me the number of their phone booth, so
I could call Chevy USA and have them contact them at the booth.
While I had them online, I told them I thought they should be paying me a
salary for taking all their calls. They just laughed and said they'd have
the problem fixed.
We still get the calls weekly -- so I guess I have an additional
"non-paying" job.
Oh well -- what goes around comes around -- so hopefully some poor person
will help me someday when I'm stranded out in the middle of nowhere!
Thanks for the humor.
